Dr. Timothy Dowling

Dynamic Meteorology Professor
Atmospheric Science|UofL

Prof. Dowling received his PhD in Planetary Science from Caltech.  Dr. Dowling's research area is planetary atmospheric dynamics, specializing in the stability and dynamics of jet streams and large vortices. Dowling is the lead architect of the EPIC atmospheric model, which is used by NASA and researchers around the world to model the weather on Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.

Dr. Jian Du-Caines

Synoptic Meteorology Professor
Atmospheric Science|UofL

Prof. Jian Du-Caines received her Ph.D. from the University of New Brunswick under Prof. William Ward. Dr. Du-Caines' research includes middle-atmosphere energetics, dynamics and tides, the vertical coupling of atmospheric regions, and space weather.

 Dr. Jason Naylor

Mesoscale Meteorology Professor
Atmospheric Science|UofL

Prof. Naylor received his Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences from the University of North Dakota.  Prior to joining UofL, he was a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences at Purdue University.  Dr. Naylor’s research includes severe weather, supercell dynamics, tornado development and maintenance, tropical cyclone structure and dynamics, numerical modeling, and microphysical parameterization schemes.
