Mesoscale Meteorology Professor

About

Prof. Naylor received his Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences from the University of North Dakota in 2012.  Prior to joining UofL, he was a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at NorthWest Research Associates in Boulder, CO as well as a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Sciences at Purdue University.  His teaching experience includes courses on mesoscale meteorology, climatology, atmospheric instrumentation and measurement, computational methods, cloud physics, and weather analysis.  Dr. Naylor’s research interests include severe weather, supercell dynamics, tornado development and maintenance, tropical cyclone structure and dynamics, numerical modeling, and microphysical parameterization schemes.
