The Cardinal has been U of L's mascot since 1913.The Central Cardinal Club is an athletic booster club designed to give your entire family the opportunity to become involved with and knowledgeable about the athletic program at the University of Louisville.

The Central Cardinal Club also hosts very exciting special events. One of their most successful activities in recent years has been their annual Golf Scramble. As well, they have a great time interacting with other Cardinal fans at their holiday boutique and their August "kick-off" meeting with Coach Charlie Strong.

The University of Louisville Letterwinners Club was established in 1928 with the intent of promoting intramural sports and furthering U of L in any possible way. It was not until the club entered its fifth decade of existence when head football coach Frank Camp helped boost the L-Club to its present success. Today the L-Club is one of the largest dues-paying college athletic organizations in the country. Click here to visit the official L-Club web page.

The L-Club hosts several annual activities providing its members an opportunity to renew old friendships and to make new ones. Among the activities are the annual golf outing, homecoming reception, basketball alumni reunion and the annual Olympic sports banquet.

Some of the benefits of being a dues paying member include: invitations to all L-Club activities and the possibility of purchasing tickets in the L-Club section for basketball and football. Although seating is limited, the section is a center of support from former athletes.

The Cardinal Dames club is designed to give women in the ‘Kentuckiana’ area the opportunity to become involved with and knowledgeable about U of L athletics. The fundraising efforts of the Cardinal Dames have enabled the organization to establish the Hickman-Camp Scholarship Fund, which endows athletic scholarships.

The Cardinal Dames also host special events throughout the year, such as their style show and picnic with the football team. Other Cardinal Dame events allow members to interact with student-athletes, coaches and other U of L personalities, while giving everyone a chance to volunteer and get involved with the program.
