Study Abroad

There is a growing number of opportunities for UofL students to study in Asian countries.  If you are a McConnell Scholar, you will spend a month in China at the end of your junior year.  In recent years, International Travel Seminars have taken students in the University Honors Program to China, India, and Japan.

Other programs are open to all eligible UofL students.  The university International Center offers travel opportunities throughout Asia. More information: UofL Study Abroad Destinations.

The College of Arts and Sciences Office of International Programs sponsors a five-week Chinese language summer program at Beijing Foreign Studies University.  In 2007, the Departments of History and Sociology inaugurated a month-long summer course in India. More information: A&S International Programs

Kentucky’s two study abroad consortia also offer courses in Asia, with credit that can be used towards a UofL degree.  The Cooperative Center for Study Abroad has courses in Hong Kong and India, and the Kentucky Institute for International Studies has a course in China.
