Visiting Scholars for the 2009-2010 Academic Year
Dr. Jungug Choi is an Associate Professor at Konkuk University in Seoul, Korea. Dr. Choi earned a B.A. and M.A. in Political Science from Seoul National University and a Ph.D. in Government from the University of Texas at Austin. While at the Center, Dr. Choi will be researching political party systems in Asia. Specifically, Dr. Choi's research will focus on the similiarties and differences between various Asian and other democratic politcal party systems.
Dr. Timothy Hildebrandt graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in Political Science and Asian Studies from St. Olaf College. Dr. Hildebrandt also holds a M.A. and Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. While at the Center, Dr. Hildebrandt will be researching the rise of civil society in China and the conflict-free interaction of non-governmental organizations with the Chinese government.
Dr. Jennifer Bussell graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Chicago. Dr. Bussell also holds a M.A. and Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of California at Berkley. While at the Center, Dr. Bussell will be researching democratic practices in developing Asian democracies. Specifically, Dr. Bussell will research how different incentives for elected officials produce different political and economic outcomes in various Indian states.
Yufeng Li is an Associate Professor at Renmin University of China. Yufeng Li earned a M.A. and Ph.D. in law from the Renmin University of China. Yufeng Li's research focuses on Government Innovation and Political Economy.
Wang Jianjun is an Associate Professor and Secretary of American Studies Center at Inner Mongolia University in Hohhot, China. Professor Wang earned a B.A. in English Language and Culture from Inner Mongolia University and MBA from Steinbeis University in Germany. Currently, Professor Wang is a Doctoral candidate at Beijing Foreign Studies University and focusing on researching US’s Mid-Asia Policy Making and Its Effects on China’s Foreign Policy to Mid-Asia. While at the Center, Professor Wang will be continuing this research. Up to today, Professor Wang has published over twenty articles in academic journals and conducted several valuable research programs.
