Dr. Kheang Un publishes article on the Khmer Rouge for the Guardian Newspaper!
Dr. Kheang Un has published an article on the Khmer Rouge tribunals for the Guardian (U.K.) Newspaper. The tribunals, which are currently being held in the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC), started in 2006 and are attempting to bring justice to many of the leaders of the former regime. The need for the tribunals has sparked debate among Cambodians as to whether or not they are necessary, given the fact that the Khmer Rouge fell out of power nearly 30 years ago. In his article, Dr. Un lays out his case as to why the trials will prove to be a positive experience for the people of Cambodia.
