Professor Emeritus Robert E. Bedeski (Department of Political Science & CAPI, University of Victoria) was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the Institute of International Studies of the Mongolia Academy of Sciences in Ulaanbaatar on November 25.  On November 27, he received a Friendship (Naraimdal) Medal by decree of the President of Mongolia, Nambaryn Enkhbayar, at the Mongolia-Canada Academic Conference. Professor Bedeski is currently Visiting Aung San Suu Kyi Endowed Chair in Asian Democracy, University of Louisville, Louisville, Kentucky; Honorary Professor, University of British Columbia, Institute for Asian Research; and Senior Research Fellow, Institute for Security and Development Policy, Stockholm, Sweden.
