Message From the Director
The Center for Asian Democracy (CAD) at the University of Louisville has been making good progress during the 2008-2009 academic year: We successfully held an international conference on China with over 100 scholars from all over the world participating; CAD hosted three visiting fellows last year and another three regular visiting scholars have been hired for this year; our three international projects continued to move forward smoothly; eleven public talks on Asia were presented at our annual speakers series; five books have either been published or accepted for publication with our book series in English; nine books have been accepted with our book series in Chinese; we have collaborated with half a dozen institutions in our scholarly activities, and our Faculty Affiliates have continued to be active in Asian studies. Above all, CAD has found a new home of six offices at the following address:
