A&S Student Scholarships and Awards
The Calhoun Family Endowed Scholarship Fund
- At least one award annually for $500, given to a student who has overcome adversity, has professional aspirations and a demonstrated commitment to the community.
- Student must have a declared major in A&S, a minimum GPA of 2.8 or higher, be a resident of Kentucky and have financial need
- Scholarship proceeds can be used by the student for tuition, fees, and books
- Applicants must apply through the Financial Aid Office, which will contact qualified students for additional information
Douglas Calhoun, II, graduated with a degree in biology and was a college athlete playing U of L Letter in Basketball, Football & track. Stephanie Calhoun completed a double major in Sociology and Psychology. They are the proud parents of Sydney and Shelby Calhoun.
As successful professionals, devoted to their community, they have created a scholarship to support the next generation of young professionals from Kentucky and express their deep commitment to education and supporting opportunities for students.
Mary Craik Scholarship for Women Students
- In order to be eligible for this scholarship, you must :
- Be a woman student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree at UofL
- Have 24 hours completed college credit at the undergraduate level (as of January 2012)
- Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5
- Deadline: Friday, March 1, 2013

Wilma Shaw Roseman Scholarship
- Several awards for full-time students with substantial financial need and demonstrated motivation to complete their degrees.

Arthur D. Yocom Scholarship
- An award of $1000 to a student who plans a career in public or community service.

Ken Terrill Memorial Award
- Awards of $500 minimum to one or more students who have demonstrated leadership in or service to the gay, lesbian, and bisexual community of UofL or the greater Louisville metopolitan area.
- Students need not be A&S majors to apply for this award.
