Professor Curry, chairing the meeting in the absence of Professor Harris, 
called the meeting to order at 2:10.

The minutes of the meeting of February 18, 1998, were approved as distributed 
on the college web-site.

The assembly approved the list of graduates for August and December 1997, and 
the candidates for graduation for May 1998, pending successful completion of 
all requirements.

The assembly approved the nomination of Heather Dawn Roe, a Political Science 
and Communication major, for the 1998 Woodcock Medal.

The Chair requested unanimous consent of the assembly to amend the agenda and 
next consider the election of officers for AY 1998-99.  Hearing no objection, 
he moved to the election of officers.

The Chair declared the floor open for nominations for chairperson of the 
assembly.  Professor Albert Harris was nominated.  It was moved and seconded 
that nominations cease and that Professor Harris be elected by unanimous 
consent.  Hearing no objection, the Chair put the question and the motion 
carried.

The Chair then declared the floor open for nominations for parliamentarian of 
the assembly.  Professor Leonard Curry was nominated.  It was moved and 
seconded that nominations cease and that Professor Curry be elected by 
unanimous consent.  Hearing no objection, the Chair put the question and the 
motion carried.

The Chair then returned to the remaining agenda item, a proposal from the 
Curriculum Committee to revise the definition of cross-cultural courses for 
general education requirements.

Professor Pfeffer called for a quorum.

There being no quorum, it was moved and seconded that the meeting adjourn.

The meeting adjourned at 2:20.
