Red Out: UofL Night at Shakespeare in the Park

Please join the College of Arts and Sciences, the UofL Alumni Association, and Kentucky Shakespeare for UofL Night on July 23. UofL Professor Emerita Rinda Frye will discuss Shakespeare’s "Magical Metaphysical Theatre" at 7:15 p.m. followed by The Tempest at 8 p.m. Dessert trucks and a cash bar will be on site. CEPM awarded $1 million for collaboration with Virginia Tech

Congratulations to the Center for Environmental Policy and Management (Urban and Public Affairs)! The center, in collaboration with The Metropolitan Institute at Virginia Tech, was awarded a five-year research grant of $1,000,000 in February by the EPA. Together with partners from The E.P. Systems Group, Inc. and Lazarus LLC, the team will develop and pilot test a Brownfields Community Benefits Assessment Toolkit (BCBAT).

Prof. Hammond elected to National Academy of Sciences of Peru

Dr. Gerald B. Hammond (Chemistry) was elected to the National Academy of Sciences of Peru. He recently returned from Brazil as a Distinguished Fulbright Chair in the Science without Borders Program of the Brazilian government.

Urban Planning graduate program ranked in country’s top ten
The Urban Planning graduate program is ranked number nine, according to the rankings at Graduateprograms.com. The rankings are based on student evaluations, and were released this spring.

Communication Department’s online program recognized
The Department of Communication ranked #27 in the Best Online Bachelor’s in Communication and Public Relations: Students Before Profits Awards for 2015-2016.

The Ann T. Allen Endowed Scholarship is accepting applications. The scholarship, through the UofL Women’s Center, is for single parents who are full-time students. See the application for more info.
