BAB Faculty Preparation Opportunities: Face-to-Face

  • Teaching in the TILL: The TILL classroom is a technology-rich active learning environment that is designed to foster student engagement and active learning. Using the moveable tables, node chairs and multiple monitors was ideal practice for use of BAB classrooms. Instructors can learn more and apply to teach in the TILL here.
  • Classroom Technology Open Houses: Prior to the start of each semester, the TILL hosts a series of informal, interactive open houses to provide instructors with hands-on opportunities to explore many of the features of BAB’s active learning classrooms. Instructors meet in a BAB classroom to gain an overview of the building’s instructional technology, classroom amenities, and active learning strategies. These informal, one-hour sessions offer instructors the opportunity for hands-on experimentation with the technology in their own classroom.  Whether an instructor’s technology of choice is a projector, white board, small group work, or collaborative software for screen sharing, participants leave with new ideas and inspiration.
  • Department Workshops: The TILL invites academic departments to partner in offering customized, interactive workshops on using active learning strategies and technologies for faculty. More information and a selection of offerings is available on the attached document.
  • Faculty Learning Communities: Instructors interested in advancing their teaching practice by participating in a topic-based, cross-disciplinary network are encouraged to join a faculty learning community.  These groups meet regularly to investigate a wide range of teaching and learning innovations.
  • One-on-One In-Class Support (First Week of Class):During the first week of classes, BAB instructors can sign up for a Delphi Center staff member to accompany them to one of their classes to provide technology support.
