Message from the Dean

Dear Colleagues,

Happy last week of October. No tricks; it is a real treat being your dean. I’m closer to understanding our budgets, have met individually with all my “direct reports,” and am about two-thirds through meetings with departments that have invited me.

We’re engaged in conversations about our research strengths and what our priorities for the future should be. All research faculty should look at the lists below and see if they capture what you do. Make sure your chair notes that in their report to me. This is an iterative process, so once we agree on our list we’ll need to collect specific information on your scholarship. Our aim is to raise our profile in some areas, which means sharing information about our achievements, bringing potential collaborators together, and hopefully accessing some resources to grow. We’re doing great research now, and it is only going to get better. This is going to be fun!
