The minutes of the meeting of February 24 were approved as distributed.

The committee approved the proposal to suspend the B.S. Science-Dentistry degree.

The committee reviewed proposals from the departments of Chemistry (concentration in Biochemistry and concentration in Business), Theatre Arts, Political Science, and Sociology to incorporate the language requirement into their B.S. degrees. Action on the B.S. in Chemistry with concentration in Business was deferred for information from the College of Business and the proposal from Political Science was deferred for clarification regarding elective hours. The other proposals were approved.

The committee approved a proposal from the Department of Biology to award credit for the AP examination in Environmental Science. Effective Fall 2006, students with scores of 3 or higher will receive 3 hours of credit which may be used in place of BIOL 263. The credit will apply to the student’s general education requirements. It may not, however, apply as hours toward a major in biology.
