The committee continued discussion of the guidelines for extramural examinations. It was decided (1) to add a statement to the catalog, stipulating specifically that departmental approval is required before the student forms an examination committee, and (2) to add a section to the approval form in which the student must explain why credit by extramural examination is justified in his/her program.

The committee discussed three proposals from the Department of English for teaching improvement grants. Partial funding was recommended.
