CURRICULUM COMMITTEE MINUTES

January 22, 2004

The minutes of the meetings of December 10 and 12, 2003, were approved as distributed.

The proposal for a graduate certificate in Latin American Studies was approved. The proposal was approved by the Planning and Budget Committee in Fall 03, and will be forwarded to the Faculty Assembly.

The committee approved increasing the number of contact hours (with no change to credit hours) for TA 628 and 629. Professor Burton explained that the courses were in the nature of studio activities and that the contact hours were in keeping with those expected by the program.s accrediting agency. The proposal will also be reviewed in the Graduate School.

Changes to CHEM 503, 628, and 629 were discussed and approved contingent upon resolution of some questions regarding course numbering.

The proposal for PAS 370 to replace PAS 365 was deferred for discussion with the department.
