The minutes of the meetings of February 23, March 2 and March 23 were approved as distributed.

The committee approved the proposal from the Department of Fine Arts for a restructuring of its M.A. programs. The present two programs will be discontinued a single M.A. program offered. The committee asked that the department clarify the availability of arts management courses before the final proposal is forwarded to the Graduate School. They also asked that the department submit a statement regarding the difference in graduate and undergraduate requirements in ARTH 541 before that course was processed.

The committee approved the Internship Option in the M.A. in Mathematics, pending receipt of a CIF form for the internship course.

The deletion of MATH 102, ENGL 663, and HIST 530 was approved, effective 01F.

The committee returned to WMST 537 (new course request; to be cross-listed with ECPY 645). As courses at different levels cannot be cross-listed, the committee will recommend that the department place the course at the 600-level or leave it at the 500-level and co-list the courses.

The committee discussed the need for additional information to departments on assessment procedures for general education courses before the next round of course submissions. It determined to review all the courses remaining on its agenda at its next meeting, sending on to the GECC those which clearly addressed assessment, and returning to the departments those which required revision. Departments would be asked to defer resubmission of courses until after a late summer workshop.
