    From concept to completion the Digital Media Suite's Production Workshops will provide novice and competitive student graphic designers the support they need to create a fantastic, cohesive array of visual art. These seminars carry the student through the entire image editing process, examining many different tools available at the DMS for image manipulation. This March 7th session from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM focuses on "Light Streak Art" and will be held at the Digital Media Suite (Ekstrom Rm. 114) for any current UofL student.

    The University of Louisville Hite Art Institute is pleased to announce the opening of an exhibition of large-scale paintings by Henk Pander at the Cressman Center for Visual Arts. Blasted Allegories is a visual exploration of America through the investigative lens of the Dutch born, Oregon resident. The show will open with a reception in conjunction with the First Friday Trolley Hop on Friday, March 2 at 6:00 p.m. All Cressman Center events are free and open to the public.

    Una visión de la mexicanidad will feature 50 works created over a period of 20 plus years by Harold Winslow. The African American artist was born in 1918 in Dayton, Ohio. In 1940 he moved to Mexico where he studied with and was influenced by iconic Mexican painters Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo.

    The Masks of Michoacan features 40 wooden masks from the Mask Museum in the Centro Cultural Antiguo Colegion Jesuita in Patzcuaro, Michoacan. According to historians, Mesoamerican cultures used masks in rituals and indigenous ceremonies. Over time, elements from the indigenous and European cultures fused, producing an especially interesting syncretism in the masks. Today, the masks reveal the history, values and attitudes of the people on topics ranging from religion to politics, race, and the economy.
