Asian Studies Emergency Plan
Currently, only one course is offered under the aegis of Asian Studies: AST 310 Introduction to Asian Studies. This semester, the course is being taught by Professor John McLeod (the instructor of record) and Professor Shiping Hua, with some guest lectures delivered by Mr Tetsuya Fujii. Asian Studies oversees two programs, the Minor in Asian Studies (director: Professor Hua) and the Graduate Certificate in Asian Studies (director: Professor McLeod).
If Professor McLeod is stricken by H1N1 or some other variety of influenza, he will inform Professor Hua. His instructional duties in AST 310 will be assumed by Professor Allen Furr of the Department of Sociology, and his duties as director of the Graduate Certificate will be assumed by Professor Hua.
As of September 28, Professor Hua will have finished his instructional duties in AST 310. If he is stricken by H1N1 or some other variety of influenza, he will inform Professor McLeod, who will assume Professor Hua’s duties as director of the Minor in Asian Studies.
If Mr Fujii is stricken by H1N1 or some other variety of influenza, he will inform Professor McLeod, and the guest lectures that he is scheduled to give in AST 310 will be delivered by Professor Hua.
All possible reasonable accommodations will be made for students in AST 310 who are stricken by H1N1 or some other variety of influenza.
