A&S Faculty Affairs Office Emergency Plan

College of Arts and Sciences Faculty Affairs Flu/Emergency Plan

Faculty Affairs is a deadline-driven office, and our flu and emergency plan begins with striving to stay ahead of deadlines so that a week of illness will not have detrimental effects on the flow of the documents we handle.

Office of Faculty Affairs

  • John Ferré, Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs
  • Paula Hensel, Coordinator of Faculty Affairs
  • Delores Pierce, Program Coordinator

Administration of Faculty Affairs in the event of flu outbreak/emergency

  • In the event of illness or other emergency that causes the Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs to be unavailable, forms requiring immediate signature will be forwarded either to the Dean or the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education.
  • In addition to the Associate Dean, there are two support people in Faculty Affairs.  If the Program Coordinator is out of the office, the Coordinator of Faculty Affairs will cover any of her responsibilities and vice versa.
  • In the unlikely event that all three members of Faculty Affairs are unable to report for work, the Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs and Coordinator of Faculty Affairs have home computer access and will check e-mail and work from home as much as illness and access to UofL technology (i.e. “I” drive and scanner files) permit.  Additionally, all members of the department have telephone contact information and will be in touch with each other.
  • If the Office of Faculty Affairs shuts down entirely, items that need immediate attention will be forwarded to the Dean.
  • The Coordinator of Faculty Affairs is responsible for the department’s website.  If necessary, Lindsey Brown-Ronay, Brian Heckel, and Mark Rubenstein have access to make any website changes in her absence.

Cancellation of events

From time to time, the Office of Faculty Affairs offers faculty workshops and orientations.  If these events need to be rescheduled, participants will be notified via e-mail.
