"Connecting the Community with the Media,” featuring
- Bennie Ivory, The Courier-Journal executive editor;
- Ken Selvaggi, WAVE-TV vice president and general manager; and
- John Ferré, UofL College of Arts and Sciences acting dean and communication professor.
Dana Seay, assistant professor of communication, will moderate discussion about how local media outlets select stories for coverage and evaluate community news.
Now in its eighth year, the lecture series seeks to bring residents and university faculty members together to discuss issues, share expertise and forge common bonds. The Yearlings Club is devoted to promoting civic responsibility, community service and leadership development. UofL’s College of Arts and Sciences’ international, diversity and outreach programs office sponsors the series.
