Admissions and Appeals Committee
Arts & Sciences Petitions
Arts & Sciences Petitions are forms to request approval for academic processes which require special consideration. There are many reasons that you may need to submit a petition, and listed below are a few examples.
- Withdrawing from a course after the deadline has passed to drop or withdraw from courses on Ulink (see the registrar's office for dates). If the deadline has not passed, then you may drop the course via Ulink in a similar fashion to how you added the class. See this tutorial on late add or withdrawal petitions.
- Adding a course after the deadline to add classes on Ulink has passed (usually after the first week of classes is over - please call 852-5502 for details). See this tutorial on late add or withdrawal petitions.
The College of Arts and Sciences Admissions and Appeals Committee is comprised of A&S faculty who will review your petition. Students with a first petition will be notified of a decision via email within 5 business working days of submitting an accurate petition form. For an appeal of a previous decision, students should expect a longer wait for notification.
If you need assistance filling out the forms please come to our office in Gardiner Hall and we will be glad to help you.
