The following nine fellowships are intended to support doctoral dissertation research. Applicants must have completed their residence requirements and coursework for the Ph.D. as well as general or preliminary examinations before the date of application. Students must have certification of competence in two foreign languages. Applicants must be either United States citizens or enrolled in a university in the United States.

Application for these fellowships may be made only through the chair of graduate departments of art history and other appropriate departments, due date is November 15. Amount of grant is $16000 annually for two years.
