A&S alumna Dawne Gee (86A, 93A) shared her memories of desegregation and busing with A&S Prof. Tracy K’Meyer for a look back at the 40th anniversary of busing in Louisville. K’Meyer, chair of the History Department, is the author of From Brown to Meredith: The Long Struggle for School Desegregation in Louisville, Kentucky, 1954-2007. Gee’s story is part of a WAVE-3 series on the 40th anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court ruling that merged the Louisville and Jefferson County districts, and created a desegregation plan that included mandatory busing and racial guidelines for school assignments.
