  • UofL at the Yearlings Club is a monthly Sunday afternoon speaker series with the goal of bringing U of L faculty and staff together with the African American community to forge common bonds and share expertise. Oct. 16: 5th Annual Latin American Studies Lecture: "The New Latin Nation: Immigration and the Hispanic Population of the United States", lecture by Dr. Alejandro Portes.

Oct. 25-29: King Hedley II by August Wilson

King returns to Pittsburgh in the 1980’s eager to make a new life and a decent living, but he struggles with old friends, old haunts, and family – past and present. Written by one of the country’s most important playwrights, this play honors Wilson’s epic cycle and his recent passing.

  • Directed by Paul Carter Harrison
  • A production of the African American Theatre Program
  • Performances nightly at 8 p.m. with an additional 3 p.m. matinee on Sunday. Tickets: $10 general public, $9 faculty/staff/seniors, $7 students. For more information, please call 852-6814.
