Pre-conference event #1:

Public Art and the City 2012 Artist Portfolio Reviews, in conjunction with the 2nd Annual Public art and the City Symposium

$25 fee (includes conference registration)

Note: Fee waived for enrolled graduate students

The reviews are being organized by Juilee Decker, art historian and chair of the art department at Georgetown College, and Peter Morrin, Director of Center for Arts and Culture Partnerships at the University of Louisville.  The roster of reviewers includes President and CEO of LexArts, Jim Clark; new media artist Valerie Sullivan Fuchs; Executive Director of the Arts Council of Southern Indiana, Julie Schweitzer; and Patrick Mohr, Professor of Foundation Studies and Sculpture at Savannah College of Art and Design. Conference Keynote Speaker, Renee Piechocki (Director of the Office of Public Art, Pittsburgh, PA) may also serve as a reviewer.

Fifteen reviews will be selected on a competitive basis.  To submit your portfolio for consideration, please send the following items: (1) C.V. (limited to 2 pages); (2) brief cover letter explaining interest in the field; and (3) a link to online portfolio.  All three items should be sent to: Dr. Juilee Decker jdecker1@georgetowncollege.edu.  Please note: incomplete applications will not be considered.  Artists are responsible for providing a laptop or other equipment for electronic presentations. Access to the Internet will not be available on site. Please plan accordingly.

The deadline for consideration is March 10, 2012. Decisions will be made by April 1, 2o12.
