The Women of Michoacán: Art & Artists

Reception: Thursday, October 29, 5 – 7 p.m.
Organized by the Kentucky Institute of International Studies and the Ministry of Culture of the state of Michoacán, Mexico, this survey of work highlighting the area’s artistic traditions is comprised of more than fifty pieces in a variety of media from painting to clay. Co-sponsored by Latin American and Latino Studies at the University, it coincides with Latino Heritage Month celebrations and culminates with Day of the Dead memorials at the end of October.
A reception in honor of the show will feature memorials by current U of L art students.
The Hite Galleries in Schneider Hall are located near the main entrance on the west side of Schneider Hall.
Schneider Hall is on the UofL's Belknap Campus, the main campus for the University. (Map of Hite locations.)
