DESCRIPTION:Amanda Briede graduated Summa cum Laude\nwith her Bachelor
  of Fine Arts in glass and\nsculpture and a minor in Forensic Anthropo
 logy\nfrom the University of Louisville in 2009. She\nreceived her Mas
 ter of Fine Arts in Craft/\nMaterial Studies from Virginia Commonwealt
 h\nUniversity in 2011. Amanda received the Allen\nR. Hite Scholarship 
 and the Winthrop Allen\nMemorial Award from the Allen R. Hite Institut
 e\nat the University of Louisville in 2008 and\n2009 and the Graduate 
 Thesis Grant from the\nGraduate School at Virginia Commonwealth\nUnive
 rsity in 2011.She has attended and\nparticipated in demonstrations and
  lectures\nin four Glass Art Society Conferences and\nhas shown work i
 n galleries in Covington\,\nLexington\, and Louisville\, Kentucky and 
 in\nRichmond\, Virginia.\nAfter completing the Master of Fine Arts\nPr
 ogram in Craft/Material Studies at Virginia\nCommonwealth University\,
  Amanda moved\nback to Louisville\, where she has been making\nand exh
 ibiting her work in solo and group\nexhibitions.
