Description: A downtown rooftop perch for Thunder Over Louisville, convenient parking and an art-oriented family party – those are just some of the attractions at “Fire & Art 7: Thunder at the Cressman” offered by the University of Louisville’s Hite Art Institute.
The annual party will run from 3 p.m. to midnight Saturday, April 20, at UofL’s Cressman Center for Visual Arts, 100 E. Main St. at First Street. The gathering benefits the university’s fine arts programs.
Visitors can watch students working in the center’s glass “hot shop” and enjoy family movies and other activities throughout the evening. Light refreshments will be included. Tables and seating will be available as visitors come and go to the Kentucky Derby Festival’s fireworks and air show on the waterfront. The top floor of the attached parking garage offers a vantage point for watching the show.
Tickets are $30 for adults and $10 for children 5-12; children aged 4 and younger are free. A garage parking pass is $25. Space is limited so reservations are required.
