The BFA degree is primarily intended for professionally oriented art students and those planning to pursue graduate work in studio arts. The BFA provides the opportunity for students to go into more depth in the studio arts. The 3D Studio track allows students to customize their degree to either focus primarily on a specific studio area or to work cross-media taking courses in several studio areas. In addition to the basic requirements of the BFA, students in a 3-D BFA track will take up to 15 hours of courses at the 500-level in either glass, sculpture, ceramics or fibers plus 15 hours of studio art or art history electives.
