Congratulations on your achievements and good luck as you assume your new responsibility to our Country.

This year marks the 102nd anniversary of the Army Reserve Officers Training Corps.  The President of the United States awards commissions based on academic performance, proven leadership capability, physical fitness and uncompromising moral character.  Today’s ceremony marks the 34th year of Army ROTC Commissioning at the University of Louisville. The Cardinal Battalion proudly boasts the commissioning of over 400 officers, including today’s commissionees.  The Commissioning Ceremony for new lieutenants is steeped in military tradition and is one of the most significant in an officer’s career.
