Summer Field Training in Methods of Data Collection: Bolivia
NSF supported summer field training program for Anthropology Ph.D. students
The NSF supports a field school for Ph.D. students in cultural anthropology from universities in the United States. Training takes place among the Tsimane', a native Amazonian society of farmers and foragers in Bolivia. In 2012 the summer field school will take place June 3-July 7 and will be run by a team of cultural and biological anthropologists. Training focuses on methods to collect ecological, demographic, economic, cognitive, anthropometric, and health data and builds on a panel study in progress since 2000.
