Now Taking Donations for Refugees in Kentucky

Hopefully you've noticed the large box at the entrance to the department. The Anthropology Student Association is collaborating in a project organized by the Ali Scholars to collect items for refugees being resettled in Louisville by Kentucky Refugee Ministries. Now is a great opportunity to clear out a few items that you've hidden in a closet, the basement or attic and give them a new life in the hands of a refugee family!

The lists below give you an example of the items provided to each refugee family when they arrive in Louisville. They can be helpful in coming up with things to donate. For example, I didn't realize that the extra shower curtains that have been lying in the back of the linen closet for the past 2 years could be put to immediate use by a refugee family.

The collection will continue through the end of October. As KRM is a 501c3 organization, your donations are tax deductible.
