National Lambda Alpha Scholarship for Graduating Seniors

$5000.00 scholarship from the National Lambda Alpha Society.

The Lambda Alpha National Scholarship of $5000 is to be awarded to a *TRUE graduating senior (summer 2014) majoring in anthropology. Our chapter may send forward only ONE candidate for this award. The winner of the scholarship will be announced in early June, 2014.

The internal deadline of application is February 21, 2014. You should submit your complete application (in hard-copy) to Dr. Jianhua Zhao. The complete application consists of the following materials:

1. Curriculum vitae.

2. Transcripts of all undergraduate grades (unofficial OK).

3. A statement of future professional plans (1-2 pages).

4. One of the applicant's professional writing (e.g. a publication or course paper). Co-authored publications and contract archaeological reports are not acceptable. The submission should be no more than "article length" (i.e., no more than 30 pages). The purpose is to evaluate formal writing skill, not to demonstrate research productivity.

*An applicant is considered an eligible graduating senior for purposes of competing for the National Lambda Alpha Scholarship Award if she/he has acquired formal senior status since the last competition or if she/he competes as an ongoing senior, but must then graduate by the end of the academic year. An applicant can compete only once for the award.

The nominee of our chapter will be announced by March 1, 2014.
