Lambda Alpha National Scholarship
Undergraduate scholarship opportunity.
The Lambda Alpha National Scholarship is to be awarded to a *TRUE graduating senior (summer 2012) majoring in anthropology. Our chapter may send forward only one candidate for this award. The winner of the scholarship will be announced in early May, 2012.
Interested and qualified students should submit to Dr. Jianhua Zhao, Faculty Sponsor of our chapter, before the February 15th deadline the following materials (hard copies):
- Curriculum vitae
- Transcripts of all undergraduate grades
- A statement of future professional plans (1-2 pages).
- One copy (printed front-to-back, with no covers/folders) of the applicant's professional writing (e.g. a publication or course paper, 6-15 pages). Co-authored publications and contract archaeological reports are not acceptable. The submission should be no more than "article length." The purpose is to evaluate formal writing skill, not to demonstrate research productivity.
*An applicant is considered an eligible graduating senior for purposes of competing for the National Lambda Alpha Scholarship Award if she/he has acquired formal senior status since the last competition of if she/he competes as an ongoing senior, but must then graduate by the end of the academic year. An applicant can compete only once for the award.
The nominee of our chapter will be announced by March 1, 2012.
