Lambda Alpha Graduate Overseas Research Grant
The Graduate Research Grant is designed to encourage overseas field research. The grant itself ranges from $2,000-$6,000. Winners are announced May, 2012.
Applicants must:
- Be a member of Lambda Alpha
- Be enrolled in the graduate program in their department for at least one academic year
- Have selected their thesis advisor
- Have formally formed thesis or dissertation on an anthropological topic
- Must conduct the research overseas
- Have their financial advisor agree to be responsible for the dispersal of the grant funds to the student, possibly in conjunction with the school's research office
- Intended applicants must see Dr. Zhao and his/her advisor to be considered for the grant
Candidates must forward to the National Office before the March 1st deadline the following materials:
- A letter of nomination and support
- A statement of financial responsibility from either their thesis advisor or thesis committee chairman containing their name/mailing address on letterhead
- Submit six copies (printed front to back, no staples, without cover/folder) for the National Executive Council of their thesis/dissertation proposal, including an itemized budget
