Call for papers: Agriculture, Food and Human Values Society

Call for papers for the 2012 student research paper awards

To encourage participation by undergraduate and graduate students and to recognize scholarly excellence, the AFHVS invites submissions to their student paper competition. 

An eligible AFHVS paper in the graduate student category must meet the following requirements: 

  1. be sole-authored by a student or co-authored by two students
  2. be on a topic related to food or agriculture that is relevant to the conference
  3. employ appropriate research methods and theories
  4. be an original piece of research 
An eligible undergraduate student paper must meet the following requirements:
  1. be sole-authored by a student or co-authored by two students
  2. be on a topic related to food or agriculture that is relevant to the conference
  3. employ appropriate research methods and theories
Final versions of the papers must be submitted to the respective organization's student paper award committee by March 8th, 2012.
Winners are expected to present their paper at the AFHVS conference within three years of winning the award, and space in a panel is guaranteed. Each award includes a paid meeting registration fee, a ticket to the conference banquet, and a $400 stipend. Maximum length should be approximately 20 pages of text, double spaced.
