Agriculture, Food & Human Values Call for Student Papers
The AFHVS and ASFS invite submissions to their student paper competition for 2011.
The AFHVS promotes interdisciplinary research and scholarship in the broad areas of agriculture and rural studies. From a base of philosophers, sociologists and anthropologists, AFHVS has grown to include scientists, scholars and practitioners in areas ranging from agricultural production and social science to nutrition policy and the humanities. Winners of the student paper competition are expected to present their papers at the AFHVS conference within three years of receiving the award, and a space in a panel is guarenteed. Awards include paid meeting registration fees, conference banquent, and small stipends.
Graduate student category requirements:
- be sole-authored by a student or co-authored by two students
- be on a topic related to food or agriculture that is relevant to the conference
- employ appropriate research methods and theories
- be an original piece of research
Undergraduate student category requirements:
- be sole-authored by a student or co-authored by two students
- be on a topic related to food or agriculture that is relevant to the conference
- employ appropriate research methods and theories
- a paper may be submitted to only one of the paper competitions, not both
The deadline for final papers is by March 15, 2011.
