Anthropology major Noah Smith wins the 2019 Maddox Award!
Each year the Department of Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies selects a student paper for this Award, which carries a prize of $500. This year the evaluation committee chose Noah’s essay "The Case for Queer Food: An Exploration of the Food-Sex(uality) Nexus." Noah wrote this paper for a seminar course this past Fall-- Food Justice, taught by Dr. Markowitz—in which Noah was the sole undergraduate.
On Tuesday March 26, Noah will present his research at the Maddox Prize ceremony (11-12:15 in Humanities 300.) Come and cheer Noah on!
