Kentucky Alumni Club Scholarships

The UofL Kentucky Alumni Club scholarships are listed below. Please contact the person listed with each club if you have questions about the scholarships, or see your guidance counselor. If you cannot obtain the information or an application through these methods, please e-mail Donna Robbins.

Unless noted otherwise, the deadline for all applications is March 15.

Bowling Green Alumni Club

This scholarship is awarded to students from the Bowling Green area who are planning to attend or attend UofL. For information about applying for this scholarship, contact Melanie Cook at 270-781-8111 the UofL Alumni Office at 502-852-6186.

Capital Region scholarships sponsored by regional alumni

Preference is given to students from the following counties: Shelby, Franklin, Spencer, Scott, Henry and Anderson. Recipients must have a 3.0 GPA in high school or previous college they attended. The scholarship is renewable for subsequent semesters provided the required GPA is maintained. For information on the fall scholarship, call the Alumni Office at 502-852-6186.

Central KY/Lexington Alumni Club

The UofL Central Kentucky Alumni Club sponsors two type of scholarships to the Central Kentucky graduating high school seniors planning to attend UofL.

Basic requirements are that students must be pursuing a degree at UofL and recipients shall have a GPA of 3.0.

In addition, a one-year full-tuition scholarship and possible partial tuition scholarships may be awarded to students best exemplifying the following characteristics: leadership ability, academic achievement, breadth of interests and financial need as determined by a committee of club members.

Michael R. Baer Scholarship

A $1,000 Michael R. Baer tuition scholarship may be awarded preferentially to a student whose father, mother or guardian is a recovering patient, current patient or a victim of a terminal illness.

Northern KY/Cincinnati Alumni Club

Awarded to a student from the Northern KY/Cincinnati regional club area who attends UofL. For information on the fall scholarship, contact Kathy Carnes at (H)859-866-6695 or (W)800-934-3477. Or call the Alumni Office at 502-852-6186.

Please print and complete the alumni club scholarship application and send to the address indicated on the application form.

Dane A. Wagge Scholarship

The Northern Kentucky Regional Alumni Club present this award annually to a student from their area who will attend the University of Louisville. It is named in memory of Dane A. Wagge, a 1996 graduate of Dixie Heights High School in northern Kentucky, who died during his freshman year at UofL.

Students must meet the following requirements to apply for the Dane Wagge Scholarship:

  • Must have applied for admission prior to April 1, 2006, or have been accepted to UofL
  • Reside within the geographic boundaries of Boone, Kenton, Campbell, Grant, Carroll, Pendleton and Gallatin counties in Kentucky or Hamilton county in Ohio.
  • Submit a completed Dane Wagge scholarship application form and essay
  • Include a letter of recommendation from your high school's administrative or teaching staff
  • Must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale and an ACT score of 20 or above

Lake Cumberland Alumni Club

Preference is given to students from the following counties: Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Laurel, McCreary, Pulaski, Rockcastle, Russell and Wayne. For scholarship criteria, please read the alumni club scholarship application and contact Kim Reynolds at 270-566-1491 or the UofL Alumni Office at 502-852-6186.

Owensboro Alumni Club

The Owensboro Alumni Club Alumni Club awards scholarships to junior and senior undergraduate UofL students from the Daviess, McLean, and Hancock Counties. The award amount and number of scholarships awarded each year are determined the club's scholarship committee. Interested students must have at least a 3.0 GPA and submit an application. If a tie should occur between two applicants, need will be the determinating factor. For information about applying to this scholarship, contact Vicki Boone, 270-926-1138.
