How Do I Register for Classes?


So you've met with your advisor and selected your courses for the upcoming term -- now it's time to get registered for classes. You'll do this through your ULink account. Follow the easy steps below, and you'll be registered in no time!

Registering for Classes

  1. Make sure that you've chosen appropriate courses. Remember, if you have less than 24 credit hours earned, you must be advised before you can register.
  2. Log in to your ULink account.
  3. Select the student services tab (located on the top left of the page).

  4. On the right hand side of the student services page, find the heading that says "Registration". Underneath this heading, select "Add Classes". This link will take you to your enrollment shopping cart. This is where all the action happens!

  5. In the box labeled "Add a class using one of the following", you have two options. You can either search for a class using the drop-down boxes, or you can enter a preselected class number.
    • Enter a class number: This number is assigned by the University -- it is not the catalog number. It can be located in the online schedule of courses. To select a class, enter the class number and click "Enter."

    • Search for courses: If you select this option, the system will ask you to select a course subject and to enter a course number (such as ENGL 311). If you would like to see all available classes in a subject area, you can leave the course number blank. You must also select your course career -- this will typically be undergraduate.

      After you have entered your criteria, just click "Search".

    • The system will list all classes that fit your search. To select a class, simply click "Select class".

  6. Regardless of which option you use above, you will be taken to a confirmation page. This page shows all the details regarding the course you just selected. Review this information carefully -- if you want the class, click "Next". If you decide against the course, just click "Cancel".

  7. If you click "Next", the class will be added to your shopping cart. You may then repeat the steps above to add any additional courses.
  8. Remember, just like in real life, just because it's in your shopping cart doesn't mean it's yours! You must make sure to check out completely. After you have added all of your courses to the shopping cart, click the button that reads "Proceed to Step 2 of 3".

  9. The next screen is a final confirmation page. This page lists all of the classes that you have added to your shopping cart. If everything looks good, just click the "Finish Enrolling" button to initiate the enrollment process.

  10. The final screen displays the results of the enrollment process. A green checkmark will indicate that you have successfully enrolled in a class. A red "X" will indicate that there may be registration issues, and an error message will be displayed. If you receive an error message, click here for help.

  11. Congratulations! You have successfully registered for classes.
