About the Office

The Office of Undergraduate Advising Practice, located in Strickler Hall, provides support and leadership to academic advisors and advising center directors in the undergraduate units of the university. The goal of the office is to assist academic units in providing consistent and quality academic advising services that will promote student retention and success.

Some of the initiatives of the office include leading the advisors and advising center directors in the development and maintenance of a university-wide advising plan, promoting consistent advising practice among the units, and developing, implementing and supporting advisor development programs. An advisors' Blackboard is maintained by the office as a medium of communication and serves as a resource to academic advisors and advising center directors.
