The University provides many programs that address various academic and personal needs of students. You are encouraged to discuss these offerings, and the potential solutions and opportunities they may provide, with your academic advisor.
Academic Support Services
REACH
The Resources for Academic Achievement center provides tutoring services, math lab, computer centers, learning resource centers, and ambassador programs.
Writing Center
At the U of L Writing Center, you can schedule an appointment with a writing consultant and find important writing resources.
Disability Resource Center
The mission of the Disability Resource Center is to coordinate services that ensure that individuals with disabilities have equal access to take full advantage of the University's educational, social, and cultural opportunities.
Career Center
The Career Development Center assists students and alumni in developing, evaluating, and implementing career, education, and employment decisions.
Student Advocate
The Provost's Advocate for Students can help you in understanding University systems, policies, and procedures. The advocate can provide basic information and guidance, and can move concerns or complaints to the appropriate academic unit or campus office.
Study Abroad Program
The International Center offers students a wide range of opportunities to study abroad. U of L offers direct study abroad opportunities in various locales around the globe. Students are also welcome to work with the study abroad staff to identify other qualified educational programs.
Commuter Student Services
Commuter Student Services strives to create an environment that gives commuter students a sense of community, engages them and makes them feel connected to the University, embraces and enhances diversity, and contributes to their persistence to graduation. The office provides academic and social support services by advocating and communicating the needs of commuter students to the University community.
Personal Support Services
Counseling Center
The Counseling Center staff and programs are ready to assist with the personal and academic development of U of L students. Acquiring academic skills, learning how to better communicate, or strengthening an existing relationship are common outcomes at the Counseling Center. A visit to the Counseling Center could be a step in the right direction when dealing with the increased frustration, tension, or confusion brought about by today's rapidly changing world.
