Advising Information for Students

 

Student responsibilities in the advisor/student relationship include:

 

  • understanding the academic policies and procedures located in the Undergraduate Catalog and on ULink (such as drop/add dates, registration dates, and academic calendar).

  • understanding and complying with any University or College deadlines (such as deadlines to apply for degree).

  • using the resources of the University (such as REACH, computer labs, and library).

  • reading University email and checking the University and College websites on a regular basis.

  • monitoring their admission status, academic progress and completion of degree requirements. This means checking the U of L transcript on a regular basis and following the academic program sheet(s).

  • asking questions and meeting with their academic advisor on a regular basis.

  • making final decisions regarding the choice of a major and course selections
