Home School Requirements

Home school is an accepted parental alternative to formal schooling in the public or private sector. In the home school, a parent will opt to have their child taught in the home rather than send their child to an established high school.

When a home school student applies to U of L, the Academic Appeals Committee, on an individual basis, must review the application and credentials after the application has become complete. The following is a list of the requirements for home school applicants to be submitted to our office for admissions:

Complete the Application for Undergraduate Admission
Pay your Application Fee of $30 US dollars. If an online Application is completed, the application fee must be submitted with the on-line application.
Submit your Test Scores
Submit your ACT (American College Test) or SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) test score.
A transcript or list of courses completed (including a grading scale that states the numerical value of a letter grade)
If any high school credit was earned in a formal high school setting, the applicant must supply a copy of the official partial transcript from that school

NOTE: The academic Appeals Committee may request additional information if they feel more information would be helpful in making an admission decision.
