SROW on a Budget

We recognize that the nation's recent economic state has left some schools with much smaller budgets. Coupled with the extreme pressure to create better programs and spend as little as possible, we are here to SROW you how you can save money and still enjoy THE best SROW around! SROW on a budget does not reduce the amount of fun you will have getting to SROW, just the opposite. These tips might encourage new relationships, innovative ideas, and SROWtally fun stories to take back with you.

 10 tips to pinch pennies and save your SROW budget:

 

1. Share transportation with another school;SROW Bucks

2. Maximize the number of bed spaces in each hotel room;

3. Bring daytime snacks (granola bars, pretzels, candy);

4. Coordinate a fundraiser night at a local restaurant to earn money for your group’s travel (California   Pizza Kitchen, Applebee’s, Chili’s, etc.);

5.  When you create your stickers for the sticker swap, make them in the office using mailing labels;

6.  Keep the props for your song, skit, or dance low key and low cost;

7.  Cancel any extra rooms your group will not use at the hotel before February 12, 2010;

8.  Some hotels do not charge for wireless usage;

9.  Develop a formal request to send to departments and offices across campus to financially sponsor one or more of your orientation leaders;

10. Limit the number of shirts to your team for the t-shirt swap.
