TestingIf you have to take a placement test prior to starting  academic work at UofL, there are several opportunities available. The language placement test in Spanish, French, German or Russian is available to take any time online. The math exams, the reading exam, Latin test, and the CLEP exams are available to take at the Office of Testing Services any time prior to course registration by appointment. We highly recommend that local students contact the Office of Testing Services to schedule an appointment to take these exams prior to orientation. However, there will be time during Orientation to complete the tests before the program begins. If you have to take a math and/or reading test, your Orientation confirmation will include your testing information to take the exam(s). If  you wait to take your exams during orientation, they will begin at 7:15 a.m. on Day 1.

Out-of-town students, please check to find the closest test center near you prior to Orientation. If you find a test center, contact Testing Services at 502-852-6606 and we will set up a remote exam for you. Fees may apply to test at a remote center.

Placement testing is determined on Math and Reading ACT/SAT subscores. For complete information on placement exams, visit louisville.edu/testing.
