How to Register
It is important for you to read all of the information on the New Student and Parent Orientation website. Once you have reviewed the general information and the frequently asked questions section and decided as a family when the best dates are for you and your parents (freshmen) to attend the program then you can submit your orientation registration request. You need to read over the information on the registration form after you input your name and student ID number. If you have any changes submit those changes on the registration form. Your registration request may be held back if you do not include THREE preference dates. Remember once we receive your request and confirmation of payment it takes up to 5 business days to process. You will receive an electronic confirmation of your orientation registration via your University of Louisville email. You can access your email at: louisville.edu/email
If you have NOT accessed your UofL email please follow the directions below before registering for orientation:
Students
- Go to louisville.edu/userid and get your user ID using your Social Security Number (SSN) and your date of birth. Write your user ID and 7-digit student ID down or copy/paste them into a document so you can grab it for the next steps.
- Go to ULink, our student portal, at louisville.edu/ulink.
- Put in your user ID you got in step 1 in the user ID box.
- Next will be your password. Your default password will be the following:
- First 2 letters of your first name
+
First 2 letters of your last name
+
an exclamation point (!)
+
the last 4 digits of your numerical student ID
Example: John Smith, with a numerical ID of 123456, has a default password of josm!3456. We know, it's a little weird, but it's set up this way to protect you from identity theft and other mischief. - Click submit. If it's successful, you will receive a "Password expired" message. Don't worry, that just means it's time to set up your new UofL password. Follow the link to set up your new password. You will also be able to set up challenge questions, which will allow you to reset your password if you forget it.
- Log in to your UofL student e-mail account at louisville.edu/email. (Your e-mail will not be created until you are admitted to UofL).
- If you are still an applicant, you can check your application status online. Visit ULink, and follow the directions "for first-time users." Log in, click on the "student services" tab and find "view my application status."
- If you have been admitted to UofL, all critical information, including individual financial aid announcements and housing and orientation information will only come to your UofL e-mail account. You will also log on to ULink to register for your classes, and access your grades, your financial aid package, and tuition bill.
