Use this list as a guide so that you are sure to take care of important business before the start of school in August. Pay special attention to some items that should be done before your orientation session.

  1. Know your student ID number. This number is on your Certificate of Admission.
  2. Activate your UofL account before you use any of UofL's online services (including e-mail). For detailed instructions, visit louisville.edu/admissions/activate.  Please note: many university offices will only send information to your UofL account. Your orientation confirmation will ONLY be sent to your UofL account.
  3. Submit your final high school transcript to the Office of Admissions.
  4. Apply for housing as soon as possible at louisville.edu/housing.
  5. Submit your orientation registration request online.
  6. To review your financial aid award letter, please feel free to bring your questions to your orientation session to discuss with a financial aid counselor.
  7. Complete the Foreign Language Placement test online by May 20, 2012. You will NOT be allowed to register for any foreign language courses if you do not complete this exam prior to your orientation session. THIS IS A CRITICAL COMPONENT TO YOUR ACADEMIC ADVISING SESSION.

  10. Consider applying for an on-campus student job.  View opportunities at louisville.edu/career.

  12. Review the Healthcare Readiness Checklist for Parents and Students.
  13. Prepare your personal finances and set a monthly budget. Have you opened a bank about or located ATM's for your home bank?
  14. Plan to participant in many of the Welcome Weekend events planned for the weekend prior to the start of classes. Many events are open to everyone, friends, family and especially you.
