UofL Students Spend MLK Day Giving Back

Last month, University of Louisville students recognized the MLK Day holiday by honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a day of service. The Engage.Lead.Serve board coined “Make the Day Off a Day ON,” and organized more than 200 UofL students to volunteer at various schools and organizations across the Louisville area.

UofL senior, Ashleigh Hazley, spent her day at a local church where she and classmates cleaned and organized the basement. "It was really nice to see so many UofL students bright and early, ready to help and with a smile on their face." says Hazley. The "Day On" was a great success, and UofL and the Engage.Lead.Serve board look forward to more service opportunities in our city.
